Thunderbolt & Lightning: Very very frightening!
Lightnings firing from cover
Why oh why oh why! Tony Francis and I wanted to give some recent forces an outing and – as often happens – this escalates into a ‘how many toys can we get on the table’ hilarity. Well, my games often turn into that... Anyway, I’d just finished a little over two detachments of post 348TW Thunderbolts (it’s sort of a Panzer detachment plus bits of a Recce, support and infantry detachment). The infantry were not quite ten TUs with just a Schlepper plus the two mortars and some support troops: maybe eight TUs in total. I’d also added the blowers to my older Waldheim Dragoons and – timeline wise – the Thunderbolts are allied to their original bedfellows the Antargrans (and I have two detachment of those) comprised of vehicles and figures from Khurusan.. And to add to that madness, Tony had just finished two detachments of Wolverines and had two Early and two Late detachments of Lightings  that has consistently taken poundings from everything I had (Zaporoskiye, Eaglewing etc) so they were due for a good day out... Putting down scenery So we set a date to get these toys out on the table and I laid out some scenery. It was my usual concoction of scratch built stuff with buildings added from 4Ground and Kato, mats by Cigar Box and - more obviously - Deep Cut studios.
