Enter the 27th century On Henry’s suggestion I thought I’d try another Slammers adaptation of the Teaser. The Slammers were led in this scenario by Major Hyde – an ‘Inspirational Leader’ in the rules – and Captain Asquith, who had the Elite skill of ‘Tactical Genius’. I thought it appropriate. They were – in this version of the Teaser – the ‘Austrians’ and it was their job to hold – or destroy – the bridge. This force was actually run by Henry himself. Attacking them were another, more conventionally equipped force. The Clark’s Commandos led by the talented Colonel Clark but having a regular Captain and Lieutenant under him. For those n ot in the know, they were not as well trained as the Slammers – they were veterans rather than Elites – but they were more numerous. Their vehicles were multi-wheeled vehicles (with a couple of tracked heavier vehicles in their most aggressive detachment) The AFVs main guns would struggle with front (or even side) armour of the Slammers blower tanks but could handle a Combat Car with some alacrity. They also had missiles and shoulder launched anti-tank weapons; they had a skilled sniper (with a rather modern style laser designator) and instructions to get across the bridge with even one vehicle at any cost. They were run by myself. Those were the forces in use.
