The Coil-Gun, with suitable AI, is capable of missile defence (though it is crude in comparison to powergun or laser systems) but it has a very rapid rate of fire and a high velocity. This makes it slightly more effective against armoured targets but less so against infantry as the rounds lack the ability to carry HE that the older 2cm cannon had.  hatches for egress. This weapon is fitted in a standard mount: a small, unmanned turret, along with a box of four Manta ATGWs. Other weapons mounts include an eight- barrelled 3cm powergun calliope for artillery and air defence (Br57) mounted in a remotely controlled turret (as the older manned variants just proved too vulnerable for the operator). This is aimed using the same AI system as the New Ukrainian made 12mm Coil-Gun. The command variant of this vehicle (Br56) uses the same turret as the M/ICV but carries a Missile designation system (usually called a 'Sniper pod) to assist targeting for missiles for the unit, along with extra sensors. Retaining the older naming nomenclature, the T/ICV variants of the vehicle mount a 5cm High Intensity powergun (Br59) and a newer Tank Destroyer vehicle (Br66) with a 9cm Railgun, although - in both of those AFVs - they feature a third crew member dedicated to firing the weapon systems. Because of intrusion from the turret basket into the rear compartment, an additional power supply, coolant gas and ammunition storage, the Br59 and the Br66 carry only half of the infantry of the Br54 (typically four). The Br56 and Br57 (command and air defence) carry no infantry at all, the former having the space taken up by communications equipment and operators, the latter by bulky 3cm ammunition. The Dragoon 2 is protected by heavy composite armour made from steel and ceramic sandwich with a beryllium mesh embedded in a plastic inner surface to prevent spalling. It has an additional layer of titanium sheeting - even more on the Br59 and Br66 - compared to the Dragoon 1 and so is slightly better armoured from some angles than its predecessor. Driver's windows are a transparent, multi-sheet, armoured composite of industrially grown, sapphire crystal and plastics. Space inside the vehicles is at a premium.
