Secondary weapons and infantry The turret mounted Manta light ATGW systems can be configured to fire in a long distance, standard anti-armour mode or they can be aimed using the onboard terminal guidance and other AI systems for use against incoming Artillery rounds (if fired from far enough away to allow time for an intercept) or at slower guided missile systems, making them anti-missile-missiles. This achieved by utilising two systems: a very rapid use of the propellant to increase both their velocity and impact; and a fragmentation of the warhead into separate components.Along side cone-bore infantry weapons and a cone-bore support weapon, the infantry also use light mortars plus sophisticated long range buzzbombs.Additionally, some units carry Manta light ATGWs for use in either the Anti-armour role or – with a suitable guidance module (worn as a backpack by the firing team) – as an AAA system. Although used against incoming artillery rounds, this is very rarely used to save the infantry themselves from attack by missiles. However it is utilised to support vehicles using a sophisticated network supported by a dedicated detachment Communication Technician, an Enhanced Data Link, and an Anti-ATGW Enhanced Data Link all in (Supplement 4). These enhanced systems mean that not only do the officers communicate exceptionally well, but any TU can passively act as a forward observer for both ATGWs and Artillery. Additionally, any vehicle that is targeted by a ATGW can call on others (or even appropriate infantry units equipped with the Manta ATGW) with that have a line of site to bring their own unused systems in to help knock down the missile at -1QR. These weapons would not then be available for other firing within that turn.
