These pages are some extra background material to the game the South London Warlords put on at Salute 2009. Some of the material has been available on line for a while but some has not. This is an attempt to rectify this omission. Building the terrain Terrain was built from three things: high density foam board, kit bashed toys and models and other scrap and this was placed on terrain boards for the game. Right are some examples of one of the main buildings. This has walls made from foam cut with a hot wire cutter. Doors are added from scratch built components and elements from both Antenociti’s workshop and Old Crow. Wiring and piping is plain electrical wire and tubing from a variety of sources including EMA plastic architectural supplies. The flooring is a selection of foam square tiles but could easily have been achieved with card. Rubble is made from crumbled cork bark from a model railway supply shop and the reenforcement mesh in the ‘concrete’ walls is rabbit hutch wire. Buttresses were cut from more foam and a clear roof was added to one of the structures from the faceted lid of a box of chocolates (”with these you are really spoiling us Mr Ambassador...”). The whole think is based on 3mm bextrene (effectively styrene) and attached with a hot glue gun. .
