The Way of the Warrior - a Slammer's Scenario
So by turn seven, the Hashemites were largely untroubled, having sent their paid mercenaries in to do the fighting. The Sincanmo were down to 50% and were about to take a leadership morale test which they would probably have failed (Chief Diabate hid behind a rock and survived the battle). For the Slammers, however, it was a different story: they had one fully working blower and two wrecked tanks with no guns and half a dozen decent Combat Cars. The Thunderbolts had come off even worse: as had happened in the story, they had been smashed - their Colonel was dead and their losses were very large but - with Broglie's tank destroyers mostly wrecked and with other losses in that force, the Slammers - and their Sincanmo pay masters - realised that they were in a rather worse position. They accepted their fate and capitulated. It was a close thing but the Slammers had probably lost - in the end the remaining tank and combat cars just wouldn't have been enough to win the day and any Sincanmo left on the table would have been even less help. The game lasted 5 hours and 8 turns. We could have played one more but the result was unlikely to have changed.“Sometimes a many has to know his limitations”(as Harry Callahan would say...).Many thanks to Jim Clark running his Thunderbolts, Alan Patrick with his Hashemites and borrowed Broglie's Legion. Both the Broglies and Thunderbolts are due an update using the new Ainsty Models!John Treadaway
