Having finished building the
components into my industrial
plant building complex, the next
task was to decide on paint
schemes. That was easy: what
spray cans did I have available in
my big box...!
Grey primer - quite a light one -
and Airfix Dark Earth sprayed over
the base and up the walls to ‘bed’
the buildings into the terrain
seemed like an easy choice and
that’s what I settled on: easy.
I thought I’d try some black
washes on one of the doors that I’d
recently bought but, I’ll confess, it
didn’t work out as well as I’d hoped
for my initial shading so I reverted
to Matt Black Humbrol and white
spirit liberally splashed over the
whole model with a large soft
brush.

The acrylic black wash just wouldn’t go where I wanted it on the grey primer...
