The Alaudae try their new kit
AMX-450AL Larminat MBT passes some high tech buildings
Trying out the new shiny Tony Francis of Brigade Games paid a visit to the new gaming facilities at Chez Treadaway. Other than the fact that I need to sort out the lighting for photography it was a successful day of gaming with his new Alaudae updates versus some nasty late Slammers with New Ukrainians  backing them up. Tony has made an excellent job of both sculpting some new hulls for his existing turret for the new Alaudae heavy tank the AMX-450AL Larminat MBT. He’s also done a nice job painting them in a very subdued green and grey airbrushed camo. The game involved the Alaudae under Colonel Dark pushing what he could of three detachments over a river (the game between the two tables) capitalising on the mobility afforded by his hover vehicles. The Slammers (acting as Mercs for the New Ukrainians) could only get combat cars over the gap: everything else - the heavy blowers and all of the tracked NU vehicles - had to use the bridge. It was a tight, nasty fight with Tony’s forces gaining early victories taking out the Slammers commander and some combat cars but - despite using wave after wave of missiles spotted by an elite sniper, the Alaudae failed to knock out enough of their opponents: lots of NU and Slammers with damaged vehicles, especially a loss of main weapons, but not enough kills. Mostly this was because of Tony’s inability to hit the floor, never mind a blower, with some of the worst serial dice throwing I’ve ever seen! The day went to the Slammers... just John Treadaway
